OSHA Increases Penalty for Not Reporting Hospitalizations by 400%
New rule guidance from OSHA dramatically increases the penalty for Employer's who fail to report hosptalizations, amputations and eye injuries. The fine for failure to comply with the rule was a maximum of $1,000.00. The new rule increases that maimum to $5,000.00. In addition to the penalty area directors also have the ability to raise the fine to $7,000.00 depending on the severity of the incident.The violation is still considered "other than serious".
